To support continued growth and portfolio expansion in Ireland, my client is seeking an accomplished Technical & Development Manager to join their Dublin office — a pivotal role within their

pan-European Asset Management division. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity offering influence, visibility, and long-term progression within a world-class real estate platform. 

The Role 

  • As Technical & Development Manager, you will be the technical authority for the Irish portfolio, overseeing asset performance, compliance, and sustainability across operational and development assets. 

  • Over recent years, my client has significantly expanded its footprint in Ireland, now owning 22 operational care homes and three major development projects—including a cancer centre (brownfield) and two new care centres (greenfield) with planning approval. These assets represent a combined completion value c.500 million, with further growth anticipated, underpinned by the strong fundamentals of the Irish healthcare sector. 

  • As Technical & Development Manager, you will serve as the local representative in Ireland, working in close collaboration with the regional London office and supported by the asset management team at Dublin HQ 

  • You’ll lead on technical strategy, project oversight, and stakeholder engagement, working closely with the Head of Country, Ireland & UK and the European leadership team. The role combines technical excellence with commercial insight — shaping the performance of a €500m+ healthcare real estate portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities - Essential

  • Lead the technical and development function within the Irish Asset Management team. 

  • Oversee building inspections, lifecycle asset planning, capital expenditure, and refurbishment projects. 

  • Ensure full compliance with building regulations, ESG standards, fire safety, and health & safety. 

  • Provide expert technical due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, building pathology and developments. 

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Asset Management, Legal, Leasing, Facilities) to align strategy. 

  • Manage budgets, KPIs, and project delivery to meet financial and operational targets. 

  • Champion innovation in sustainability and digital building management platforms. 

About You - Essential

  • Degree in Building Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 

  • 7–10+ years’ experience in building consultancy or technical asset management. 

  • Professional accreditation (e.g. MRICS, MCIOB, CIBSE) preferred. 

  • Strong understanding of commercial leases, technical due diligence, lifecycle planning, and landlord/tenant legislation

  • Healthcare or care sector experience an advantage, though not essential. 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, report presentation, and commercial communication skills.
