My client is seeking an ambitious and driven Chartered Building Surveyor to join their growing Building Consultancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work across a diverse commercial portfolio, delivering high-quality technical advice and contributing to the continued expansion of the business.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial building surveying, with proven experience in Technical Due Diligence, Landlord & Tenant matters, Dilapidations, and project delivery.

About the Role

Our client’s Building Consultancy team is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary group of experienced property professionals delivering a broad range of services to landlords, tenants, funds, developers, and private clients.

Operating as a close-knit but high-performing team, they manage surveying and project management services across a portfolio of high-profile commercial, office, and industrial assets. The role offers a varied and technically engaging workload, with opportunities to broaden expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The team places strong emphasis on continuous professional development and innovation, with exposure to emerging areas such as Solar PV, energy strategies, and sustainability-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Technical Due Diligence inspections and reporting

  • Deliver transaction-led surveys, including pre-acquisition and pre-disposal reports

  • Carry out building condition and defect analysis surveys

  • Complete stock condition surveys across property portfolios

  • Manage Dilapidations processes on behalf of Landlord or Tenant

  • Provide Landlord & Tenant advisory services, including licences and approvals

  • Oversee commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects

  • Advise on energy upgrades, retrofit solutions, and ESG-led initiatives

Candidate Profile

  • Registered Building Surveyor; Chartered status (or currently undertaking APC) preferred

  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction, materials, and defect identification

  • Demonstrated project management experience across commercial fit-outs and refurbishments

  • In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including Building Regulations, BCAR, Health & Safety, Planning, and Landlord & Tenant law

  • Proven experience in dilapidations, with strong negotiation skills

  • Solutions-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving capability

  • Strong communication and report writing skills, with keen attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Full driving licence and access to own transport
