Role Overview
As Junior Investment Manager, the successful candidate will support the Investment Manager in monitoring my client’s residential portfolio, tracking performance against business plans, preparing reporting, coordinating inputs across teams and supporting the delivery of asset-level initiatives in line with investor expectations.
The role will provide exposure across asset management, investor reporting, performance analysis, operational performance and governance, supporting the delivery of clear, accurate and timely information to internal stakeholders, clients and institutional investors.
Working closely with Asset Management, Finance, Leasing, Operations and Property Management teams, the Junior Investment Manager will help identify trends, risks and opportunities, support business planning and contribute to process improvements that enhance portfolio visibility, decision-making and performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Asset Management Support & Portfolio Performance
• Support portfolio performance monitoring across leasing, income, costs, capex, arrears, occupancy, rent collection and asset-level KPIs.
• Assist with preparation and tracking of asset business plans for new and existing residential assets.
• Analyse leasing, financial and operational trends to identify emerging risks, opportunities, variances and recommended follow-up actions.
• Prepare supporting analysis, variance commentary and performance summaries for regular asset performance reviews.
• Maintain asset-level trackers covering leasing progress, rent performance, operating costs, capex delivery, ESG initiatives and key commercial assumptions.
• Support action planning for underperforming assets and track progress against agreed initiatives.
Client Reporting & Investor Relations
• Assist with preparation of investor and client reporting packs including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Prepare performance commentary, portfolio updates, dashboard inputs and supporting schedules for client review.
• Support client presentations, tender submissions, portfolio updates, board materials and new mandate materials.
• Maintain accurate, consistent and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring information is reconciled and appropriately documented.
• Coordinate inputs across Finance, Leasing, Operations and Property Management teams to ensure reporting packs are complete and delivered to deadlines.
• Respond to client and investor information requests with accurate, professional and data-supported responses.
Financial, Operational & Business Plan Analysis
• Review financial reports, rent rolls, operating data and budget outputs to support asset management decisions.
• Maintain trackers, forecasts, dashboards, budget files and reporting templates used to monitor portfolio performance.
• Support annual operating and capital budget processes, including gathering assumptions, reviewing submissions and tracking changes.
• Assist with debt covenant, compliance and reporting requirements where relevant to asset and portfolio performance.
• Prepare variance analysis against budget, business plan and prior period performance, highlighting key drivers and areas requiring management attention.
• Support scenario reviews and sensitivity analysis under the direction of the Investment Manager.
Systems, Collaboration & Governance
• Improve reporting processes, templates, data capture, document management and automation where possible.
• Collaborate with Asset Management, Finance, Leasing, Operations and Property Management teams to ensure information is accurate, timely and aligned.
• Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects including portfolio analysis, process improvement and client-related workstreams.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, documentation and governance across all reporting and analysis.
• Assist with maintaining data rooms, reporting calendars, action trackers and audit trails for investor, client and internal governance purposes.
• Contribute to the development of consistent reporting standards, data definitions and ways of working across the asset management function.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Property, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
1–3 years’ experience in a data or property-focused analytical role.
Familiarity with residential property operations or asset management is desirable.
Knowledge of property management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) an advantage
