Building Surveyor – Join Our Client’s Leading Building Consultancy Team
Our client, a respected and growing building consultancy, is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their dynamic, multidisciplinary team. Working collaboratively alongside building surveyors, service engineers, project managers and designers, you will play a supporting role to a Chartered Building Surveyor while delivering core building surveying duties for commercial clients across Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Our client’s building consultancy comprises professionals in building surveying, project management, mechanical & electrical services, and architecture/design. The consultancy provides services across both public and private sectors—including commercial, financial, residential, industrial, and retail clients. It also partners with facilities management and property services teams to deliver a fully integrated service offering.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor (3–5 years) to become an integral part of a busy consultancy team providing professional building surveying and project management services. You will work on a wide range of exceptionally exciting projects and client instructions.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong building pathology knowledge, excellent communication and IT skills, and the ability to assess, prioritise and manage a variety of instructions and stakeholder requirements. This role involves producing high-quality reports and managing live construction projects, ensuring best practice standards are upheld. A proactive approach to being solutions oriented and a strong sense of responsibility are essential.

Your Role:
You’ll play a key role in delivering expert building surveying and project management services, including:
Detailed condition surveys and defect analysis
Managing live construction projects
Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance
Providing professional advice to landlords, tenants, and clients

What You’ll Do:
Deliver high-quality technical reports and building condition surveys
Project manage refurbishment and fit-out schemes from concept to completion
Navigate planning, fire safety, and BCAR compliance
Provide expert advice on dilapidations, landlord approvals, and tenant fit-outs
Collaborate closely with clients and colleagues to solve complex building challenges

Key Responsibilities
Produce building condition surveys, PPM, sinking fund, and defect analysis reports
Prepare and negotiate dilapidations claims on behalf of landlords and tenants
Submit and manage statutory applications for planning, fire safety, disabled access, and BCAR
Approve and coordinate landlord approvals and tenant fit-outs
Lead project management activities, including design and cost consultancy
Design and specify refurbishment and fit-out works in line with Building and Control Regulations
Analyse technical documentation and determine remedial solutions
Manage technical enquiries from clients and professional advisors
Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures
Candidate Attributes
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit; knowledge of Smartsheets is an advantage
Strong knowledge of construction technology, methods, and regulations
Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Highly organised, with the ability to manage workloads independently
Confident and client-facing, capable of fostering strong long-term relationships
Strong time and resource management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite and responsible use of AI tools such as Co-Pilot
Honest, diligent, and adaptable to different work environments
Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to continuous development
Key Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Relevant Degree in Building Surveying or Construction discipline
Full clean driving licence
Remuneration: reflective of the role responsibilities + pension and discretionary bonus
