My client’s Building Consultancy team is a multi-disciplinary department of experienced property professionals, acting on behalf of landlords, tenants, funds, developers, and private clients to deliver a diverse range of consultancy services.

THE ROLE

Due to a growing pipeline of Building Surveying instructions, my client is seeking an Architectural Technician / Technologist to join their team.


This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and collaborative professional to make meaningful contributions within a growing department. The role offers significant potential to evolve into a diverse and rewarding position with opportunities to expand skillsets over time.


The successful candidate will ideally have experience delivering innovative commercial design solutions, space planning, concept development, and preparing technical drawings and presentation visuals.


Experience working with clients, contractors, and design teams is highly desirable. Site-based or project management experience would be an advantage, though not essential.


The role will include crossover into project oversight, including site meetings, inspections, and snagging, with strong potential for professional development.



ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Construction Technology, or related discipline

  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and specifications

  • In-depth understanding of current Building Regulations, Health & Safety standards, and property/construction legislation

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D visualisation tools, Photoshop, InDesign, and other industry-standard design software

  • Ability to produce drawings from concept to construction stage, including technical specifications for pricing and tendering

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Team-oriented approach with a desire to contribute to high-quality project outcomes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


DESIRABLE (BUT NOT ESSENTIAL)

  • Experience in contract administration, project management, and managing commercial fit-outs or refurbishments

  • Background in consultancy-based roles and client relationship management

  • Interest or experience in energy retrofitting, low-carbon design, and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) principles
